Dear patients,
We are open! Due to Covid-19 we have to practice extensive disinfection protocols and extra spacing between patients to keep everyone safe. Because of this, as you arrive for your appointment, things will look a bit different. Don’t worry, you will still have the same wonderful treatments you are used to, we just will have to hide our smiles behind masks for a while!
We are happy and fortunate to report that Suzanne has been fully vaccinated for COVID - 19 so that she is able to keep helping patients.
Before your appointment as required by the health department
You will receive an appointment reminder with a list of pre-screening questions. You are REQUIRED to reply to your appointment reminder before coming for your appointment.
Patients with fever(more than 99 degrees)/cough/sinus symptoms/sore throat are encouraged to stay home and contact her/his doctor to see if a test should be performed. Unfortunately, we are not able to treat colds or flus in person at this time. Please note our office is NOT set up to treat active COVID cases, so please contact your primary care doctor if you have symptoms.
Per health department guidelines, we are required to minimize in-person contact time to keep everyone safe. If you would like to discuss your condition in-depth or would miss our usual chats, please schedule a video/telephone call anytime before your appointment.
You must cover your mouth/nose. This is required in order to enter the building. 450 Sutter Building has limited elevator capacity to 4 people, therefore please expect longer waiting time for the elevator.
We cannot handle leftover herbs or recycling bottles for herbs. Please count how many scoops of each formula you have at home and the formula name and we can make sure you can use the leftovers. You are welcome to tell us how much you have or email it before coming.
New office setting
Unfortunately, you cannot come early to your appointment. If you arrive early, please call us from outside to see if we can take you early.
Please use the hand sanitizer provided before entering the front door of our office.
We will take your temperature with a forehead thermometer before you come in our front door. (patients with a fever of higher than 99 degrees are advised to stay home and contact their primary doctors). We are not able to treat you if you have a fever that day.
We will be wearing masks and gloves during the treatment. It’s sad that you can see our smiles underneath the mask, but we are more than happy to see you!
Please wear a face mask during your treatment. Thank you for protecting us and in turn the next person that comes!
No reusable cups available in the clinic, you are still welcome to bring your water bottles or use disposable cups provided in our clinic.
We are spacing our appointments between patients so we have enough time to disinfect everything. We also use air purifiers that are antiviral for the clinic in each room.
Bathroom keys will be well sanitized after each use. Please return them to your treatment room.
To avoid crowding, we are going to space appointments and have you go straight to the treatment room. The waiting room will be closed.
If the weather allows, we can have windows open to allow more airflow. Windows are opened between patients in addition to Molekule air filters which are antiviral.
Our cleaning/disinfect process
We use “Force Of Nature” disinfectant which is approved on “list N” from the FDA to use to kill COVID Viruses. We allow all surfaces to remain wet for longer than required, at least 10 mins and often even longer as it takes about 20-30 mins to air dry. This is the safest disinfectant choice that does the job.
We disinfect each room between EACH patient. We disinfect all surfaces of the treatment room, including the treatment table/chairs/desk/buttons/bathroom/door handles/ keys and all doorhandles/buttons/hard floors and mats and surfaces in the common entrance between EACH patient. We thoroughly spray everything!
At the end of the day we disinfect all surfaces in the office.
We use air filters that are antiviral. San Anselmo additionally has vented ceiling fans that draw air out along with antiviral filters.
We open windows and blinds to allow fresh air and direct sunshine into the treatment rooms. UV light kills viruses!.
We change all sheets/pillowcases between patients. Our clinic is equipped with a washer/dryer with a sanitize laundry function, hence limited chances of contamination from outside laundry services.
As your acupuncturist, we use special clinic scrubs(clothes) and shoes freshly laundered and sanitized and are washing our hands often, on average 5 times per patient. We wear a surgical mask at all times in the clinic.
Even before the pandemic, as a healthcare facility, we have always practiced the proper cleaning/disinfecting process required by our board and all government agencies.
We hope you have been taking good care of yourself during Shelter In Place. We miss you! As the pandemic has been impacting ALL of our lives, we deeply appreciate the support from our patients during this time and look forward to seeing you!
